Troy Bayliss has found further improvements on his Xerox Ducati after completing a three day testing session at Mugello last week.
This weekend the World Superbike Championship round is at the San Marino circuit in Misano and Bayliss is hoping to add points to his lead.
Last time out in Germany, Bayliss took a second and fourth but was not one hundred percent happy with his machine after losing feeling in the back end of the 1098 F08.
Bayliss has an excellent track record at Misano and has won three out of four races there in the past two years, and is fully confident of a win this weekend.
Troy Corser was denied the chance of his first win of the season at the Nurburgring, when the race was red flagged after fourteen of the scheduled twenty laps.
Corser was leading at that stage of the race but as it was stopped due to rain the actual winner is the rider who was leading on the previous lap, which was the Japanese rider, Noriyuki Haga, so will be keen to get on the podium on Sunday.
