Troy Bayliss not only took pole position again today, but the Ducati Xerox rider set a new circuit best lap, with a time of 1:44.931.
Second on the grid is the Suzuki Alstare rider Max Neukirchner, three-tenths of a second behind Bayliss but ahead of Noriyuki Haga on the Yamaha. Carlos Checa filled the last place on the grid for Hanspree Ten Kate Honda.
On the second row of the grid are the two Suzuki riders Yukio Kagayama and Fonsi Nieto with Ruben Xaus on the Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati and Ryuichi Kiyonari on the Honda.
Max Biaggi moved up into ninth position today after only managing to be fifteenth fastest yesterday, followed by Karl Muggeridge on the Honda. Régis Laconi is in eleventh place on the Kawasaki PSG-1 ahead of the struggling Troy Corser is in twelfth and in thirteenth, Michel Fabrizio on the Ducati.
