The official two days of testing in preparation for the April 6th race has taken place in Valencia with Karl Muggeridge breaking the track record.
Muggeridge, the DF Racing Honda rider took the fastest lap on the CBR1000RR machine in a time of 1:34.252 just a fraction quicker than Ruben Xaus set the day before on the Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati.
The Australian, Muggeridge was delighted “This bike has got a lot of potential” he said, “I didn’t go as well in race set-up but for the Spanish round we’ll have some new electronic parts so I’m feeling confident. The DF Racing guys are doing a great job and I think we’re going to get some good results this season.”
The Ducati Xerox rider Troy Bayliss and Michel Fabrizio were absent in the second day of testing along with the Yamaha Motor Italia team riders, Troy Corser and Noriyuki Haga. Max Biaggi the second Sterligarda rider is still out after fracturing his wrist at the Philip Island round.
