Max Neukirchner, the Alstare Suzuki rider, in front of his home crowd claimed pole position today ahead of tomorrows World Superbike Championship at the Nurburgring.
Troy Bayliss took second place on the Ducati Xerox ahead of Hanspree Ten Kate Honda rider, CarlosCheca and Noriyuki Haga on the Yamaha Motor Italia.
It is only ten days since Haga had his broken collarbone fixed so he will not be fully fit for the race this weekend but to get fourth in qualifying is impressive in itself.
Michel Fabrizio on the second Ducati Xerox is in fifth place followed by Troy Corser on the second Yamaha Italia. Lorenzo Lanzi on the RG Ducati and Max Biaggi on the Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati completed the second row.
In ninth place was Karl Muggeridge for the DF Racing Honda team with Ruben Xaus on the second Sterilgarda to round off the top ten.
Japanese rider, Yukio Kagayama, the Suzuki Alstare rider, missed the qualifying session after crashing out during the afternoon free practice and was taken too hospital with concussion.
