An announcement has been made that the PSG-1 Corse Team are withdrawing from the World Superbike Championship with immediate effect due to the economic crisis.

The team started the 2009 season with two riders Matteo Baiocco and Ayrton Badovini but by the Assen round the team were using only the Kawasaki of Baiocco.

Early in the season the team faced financial difficulties when it was reported that several of their sponsors backed out amid their own economic crisis, with the team owner Pierguido Pagani, first reducing the line-up to one rider before pulling out of the Kyalami and Miller Motorsports rounds.
