This weekend is the final race of the World Superbike Championship, taking part at the new Autodromo International do Algarve circuit in Portimao in Southern Portugal.
The runner-up spot will also be decided this weekend between Noriyuki Haga on 325 points and Troy Corser with 316 points.
Jonathan Rea will be making his first appearance in the World Superbike class on the Ten Kate Honda Fireblade after riding a Supersport bike for a season.
Sadly, it will be the last race for the retiring Troy Bayliss, the Ducati Xerox rider who was crowned the 2008 World Champion last month for the third time.
The 39-year-old Australian’s career started in 1997 at Phillip Island and he will no doubt want to leave on a high note.
The circuit has been having the finishing touches recently for it’s first World Superbike Championship race a new track for all the riders. Here is a video of the circuit from MCN;
