Joy Ryder - Monday 21.07.08, 19:13pm

Troy Bayliss

Troy Bayliss on the Xerox Ducati, won both races yesterday at the ninth round of the British Superbike Championship at Brno.

Race 1

Bayliss took his 47th career win in race one on the Czech circuit yesterday beating Troy Corser on the Yamaha Motor Italia WSB, by 1.5 seconds.

The Australian rider, started in pole position and was in the lead by lap 12 followed by Corser, and team-mate of Bayliss, Michel Fabrizio was in third.

Biaggi and Corser battled it out for the lead for over half the race before Bayliss took over, although it almost ended in disaster.

Corser was attempting to wrestle the lead from Biaggi as Bayliss tried to pass on the other side nearly taking him out of the race.

Fabrizio claimed the final podium spot after passing Max Biaggi on the Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati, on the final lap seeing an exciting duel between the two Italians.

Ryuichi Kiyonari on the Hanspree Ten Kate Honda finished in fifth place ahead of Noriyuki Haga on the Yamaha Italia, who had struggled with his machine all weekend.

Max Neukirchner on the Alstare Suzuki came in seventh followed by Carlos Checa on the second Hanspree Ten Kate Honda, Yukio Kagayama on the Suzuki and Kenan Sofuoglu, team-mate of Checa, in tenth.

Fonsi Nieto finished in eight place ahead of Yukio Kagayama in ninth and Kenan Sofuoglu rounding up the top ten fastest riders of the day.
